 Day
1: HA NOI – MAI CHAU – HANG KIA
8:00 am: Pick up at hotel in Hanoi. Overland drive to Mai chau (150 km
South-West of Hanoi). Lunch at local restaurant. Pick up local guide and
things needed for the trek, including permit. Drive on for 30 km towards
Son la. An easy walk for 10 km to Hang kia village (H'mong minority). An
untouched-by-modern-life-area. Dinner and overnight in the village with
basic conditions.
Day
2: CUN PHEO
Long and hard day trekking down the mountain (roughly about 15 km).
Steep, but wonderful view. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight
in Cun pheo village (Muong minority). Basic conditions.
Day
3: CUN PHEO - LAC
Long but easy walk from Cun pheo to Lac village (Thai minority). Roughly
about 25 km. Picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight on stilted-house in the
Thai village. The best conditions in the same type of sleeping. Evening:
Amateur traditional folk show by the local people. Optional: You can
also only walk half way then the bus will take you to Lac village.
Day
4: MAI CHAU – HA NOI
After breakfast ,drive back to Hanoi. Tour ends at your hotel
around 12:00 noon.
