 Day
1: HA NOI - SON LA
Drive overland to Son La (320 km) with many stops on the way for taking
pictures . Lunch en route. Dinner and night at a mini hotel.
Day
2: SON LA - DIEN BIEN
Leave Son la for Dien bien (160km North–West of Son La), passing a very
beautiful mountain pass named Pha Din. Several stops en route for
sightseeing and pictures. Lunch in Dien bien. PM: visit Dien bien phu
battle field, Army museum, villages of ethnic groups. Dinner and night
at mini hotel.
Day
3: DIEN BIEN PHU
Visit more the historic sites of Dien bien phu (such as the museum at A1
Hill, De Catrie’s Bunker) and the surrounding villages of the Thai
minority. Dinner and overnight in town.
Day
4: DIEN BIEN PHU - MAI CHAU
We drive for 330 km to Mai chau valley, where we will spend a night on a
house-on-stilts of the local Thai people. Evening: Traditional concert
of the local troop.
Day
5: MAI CHAU - HANOI
Drive back to Hanoi (150 km) with several sightseeing stops at the Muong
villages and other sites. Tour ends in Hanoi around 3 PM.
