TOURING AROUND HANOI

JEWEL OF THE DELTA 1 DAY

The Red River winds for more than 500 km through northern Vietnam, flooding the surrounding plains and enriching the soil providing the farmers with nutrients for their crops. The villages and rural communities that line the banks of the river date back more than a thousand years. On this full day cruise we will explore the Red River from our private boat - the Jewel of the Delta. We stop along the way and cycle to some of the most impressive pagodas in northern Vietnam as well as visiting some traditional handicraft villages.

Activities:

Boating, cycling, and cultural experience
Leaving Hanoi at approximately 8.am we drive to our boat, the Jewel of the Delta, on the banks of the Red River. We begin our cruise through the countryside with plenty of time to relax before making our first stop at Ho Harbor. From here we transfer to state-of-the-art bicycles and embark on a 28km ride along the winding country roads through the lush Red River Delta. En route we stop at the following points of interest:

Dong Ho handicraft village:
For generations the village of Dong Ho has been synonymous with Vietnam's traditional paintings and artists. Dong Ho is renowned for its unique wood prints. Each family runs their own workshop and we will have the opportunity to see how this intricate printing process works.

But Thap Pagoda:
It is thought that the origins of the But Thap Pagoda date back to 6th century, although much of what we see today was constructed in the 17th century. The name But Thap means 'pen brush' and was given to reflect the shape of the Bao Nghiem Tower. The principal attraction of the pagoda lies inside. The statue to the Avalokitesvara or Goddess of Mercy has 11 faces, 994 arms and 994 eyes – each eye resting on the palm of a hand.
